Roumanie : "nous ne voulons pas de gaz de schiste"

ROMANIANS DO NOT WANT CYANIDE AND SHALE GAS

Alexandru Popescu, qui était en grève de la faim, sous le ciel bleu de Bucarest, et par des froids terribles pendant 22 jours l’hiver dernier, en solidarité avec les agriculteurs de Pungesti - résistant au forage visant du gaz de schiste - a entamé hier une longue marche de 3150 km pour une Roumanie et une Europe "Frack-Free".

Une cinquantaine d’autres militants l’ont rejoint pour les premiers pas de sa marche. Il sera sur la route ces 3 prochains mois, pour atteindre, entre autres, Budapest, Vienne, Berlin, Paris et Bruxelles.

Le 1er Décembre, à l’occasion de la Journée nationale de la Roumanie, il délivrera un message d’opposition à la fracturation hydraulique et dénonçant l’exploitation minière au cyanure ( cf. la mine d’or prévue à Rosia Montana ) à l’intérieur ou devant le Parlement européen.

"Gayzer Frackman", militant britannique contre les forages et la fracturation hydraulique va se joindre à lui 14 jours avant qu’Alexandru Popescu n’arrive à Bruxelles, afin de renforcer le message délivré par cette action et pour montrer la solidarité internationale. Nous espérons qu’entre-temps, par cette action, ces deux citoyens européens encourageront d’autres personnes de toute l’Europe à les rejoindre dans leur marche.

Alexandru Popescu, who has been on hunger strike, under the blue sky, during 22 days last winter, in solidarity with the farmers from Pungesti, has set off yesterday on his 3150 km long walk for a frack free Romania and Europe. Some 50 other activists have joined the start of his walk. He will be on the road for the next 3 months, reaching, among others, Budapest, Vienna, Berlin, Paris and Brussels. On the 1st of December, the National Day of Romania, he will be delivering an antifracking and anticyanide mining message in front or inside of the European Parliament.
Gayzer Frackman from UK will join him, setting off 14 days before Alexandru Popescu will reach Brussels, to enhance the message and show solidarity.
We hope that meanwhile the two of them will inspire more people Europe-wide to join this march.

"The departure will take place on the 30th August 2014, at 9 a.m., in Ploiesti.
Yes, I will be walking alone, on foot, but anyone who wishes to accompany me on the entire itinerary, or portions of it, will be more than welcome.
The title of this page underlines the idea of uniting more people around this project. I will be leaving from Ploiesti because I’m from Prahova region, and I will be happy if other people who share my message, are leaving from others parts of the country to meet me in Ploiesti, the hour and date of my departure.

This fight is for our next generations and we now have the duty, for their welfare, of protecting the environment.
My message is very simple : ROMANIANS DO NOT WANT CYANIDE AND SHALE GAS. And because we are part of the European Union,
I wish other citizens in E.U. to join me in this protest, showing that EUROPE DOES NOT WANT CYANIDE AND SHALE GAS !

The itinerary will take 3150 km, via Ploiesti- Brasov - Cluj-Napoca - Oradea - Budapest - Vienna - Berlin - Paris - Bruxelles.
I hope to finish this journey on the 30th November, 2014, so that on the 1st of December, on Romanians National Day, I would be able to read a message in or in front of the European Parliament. I’m asking all Romanians who love their country to understand that now is the moment to be united for saving ROMANIA.

After the earth and water will be poisoned, there will be no point for doing something. It will be too late. The expenditure will be large, it is true, because I will be using mostly my money, but if one believes in his ideals, no sacrifice will be greater, and I hope that those who really understand my gesture will help me by donating.
